Just spoke to a friend who found a really good cleaner to clean seasonal scum from the side of metal boats. Called Bartenders friend and can be purchased at Menards. Strange name isn't it. We're always looking for a better and easier product
It has been around before Moby Dick was a guppy.
We use that for our stainless sink. It comes in a powder (like Comet) or liquid (as pictured).

Good to know. I’ve always been lucky using my electric pressure washer , or most of the time , I will go by the car wash on the way home. Especially when it’s been in saltwater. My aluminum boat isn’t big, ( 16ft ) so it doesn’t take long...my 2cents.
Always keep some on hand!!

It is great stuff. Very fine abrasives. I use it to clean a glass stove top. Hasn’t scratched it. It contains oxalic acid, good on hard water stains. Bad for fish. Best not to use it on the water.
Great on stainless steel pots and pans.
Whatever gets it done is what we keep on hand. Thank You for the info. I have Lemon on the boat for cleaning lures etc. Lemon Dawn is supposedly the best stuff to clean all the gear and lures for fishing. It makes perfect sense to me because a little lemon scent with whatever scent may be added when targeting any fish would be a 100% natural residue of scent when fishing.

Stainless Steel is Carbon Steel with Chromium so any Chrome polish will work on Stainless. Aluminum is a softer alloy but can be polished. Flushing Salt Water is critical with Aluminum Boats due to Electrolysis. Many Ocean Boats are Modern Fiberglass or Ancient Wood Hulls to avoid Electrolysis. Stainless is easier to control the nuisance but Aluminum is much more affordable.
I will get some of the stuff you shared. It may shine up the Centerlines on the Jeeps I have for sale. They are for fishing. Jeep is a really great fishing and hunting vehicle. I have 2 Wranglers that need a new owner. Been fishing with Jeeps for decades. PM if interested.

Always test before use on your boat.
Not sure what different product you are talking about. Barkeepers is an abrasive. Just very fine grade.
