Check with your local bait shops and Google and YouTube are also great resources. If for some reason you do not get very many responses you might start a new thread about crab fishing in Washington State in the title. that might catch other stagers attention ðĪŠ

Welcome and first tip to crabbing is your not gonna find em in the rivers, lol, but if you have a boat they can be found around Mukilteo ferry dock or straight across around Hat island, they like chicken, turkey, salmon carcasses, clams.try around fifty feet deep or so
Be sure to check the Regulations. The opening and weekly dates are strictly set in different parts of the sound and straits. The size is also strictly enforced. Don't be caught trying to measure the outside points on the shell. Even 1/16 inch off can get your fined. If you measure right, it is a no brainer and a blast. As far as location, you will see numerous red and white floats in good traditional locations. If you want Dungeness rather than rock crabs, stay of the rocks. There are lots of spots out there that will not support a lot of crabbers, especially commercial crabbers. Don't be afraid to explore. I use a ring net and pull at 15 minutes. Either there are crabs their or not. If I get crabs, I then put in more effort in that location. Many people sell rock crabs short as their body meat is less and harder to get than Dungeness. Don't sell them short. Those big chunks of claw meat are Oh So Good!!! I crab in 20 to 90 feet of water depending on the specific location. (younger daughter in photo. Last August or September)
