Went to the bank to cash a check I’ve been sitting on from my brother.
Walking in the door a nice young man heald the door open for me.
I thanked him.
Standing in line I asked what he’s doing today.
He said doing some work around the church
I asked what he was doing and he replied “ well I’m the pastor and I do it all. Yard work today.
Well I’ve been thinking about some spiritual guidance for past several months.
I asked him did he have a little time to talk.
He did so we went for breakfast and coffee on me.
Laid out my questions and this guy gave it to me straight.
Didn’t blow smoke up my …
Straight up a great dude. Genuinely believes in what he’s doing.
Thanked him with a promise to keep in touch.
I’m gonna call my mom. We got some issues we need to clear up before it’s too late.

Good for you Ben, hope it works well for you both. My step dad was a pastor, one of the greatest men I’ve ever met.

Ben....Call her now. I was just reminded by a recent event involving a family member that " It's never too late " is baloney. Wish I had made just one more try. I have few regrets, but my opportunity just went away for eternity.

Don’t know your issues but be happy you have your mom still Ben . I lost mine to cancer at 46 yrs young . My suggestion a hug and some Mother’s Day flowers and maybe a fish dinner go a long way …

Thanks for posting this, Ben. This is great for you, and most of all, who knows what an inspiration it could be for someone else in a similar state but hasn't reached out. Blessings to you brother!

I called her. Painful but forgiveness sometimes is like ripping off a bandaid.
Since this guy and I have discussed violent acts such as defense of myself and my country.
Told him I’d look god in the eye with confidence on those.
My son, I ain’t so sure. He had to do some pretty bad things in the war. He’s still pretty shook up about it.
Gonna see if he would like to talk to this guy.

Can’t even describe how it feels to let go hate and resentment that has been simmering 50 some odd years.
One less thing to worry about
