The good news, fishing was great. Caught close to 20 decent size fish. Catch n release. Kept 3 for my friend n I to eat for lunch. Bad news, game warden came to see our license. Expected to see him on opening day. With 3 other people and as we were leaving the game warden advised us that the upset Sacramento River area opening has changed to may 29. The Saturday before Memorial Day. Before the new opening day you are allowed to fish with artificial lures and keep only 2 fish with maximum 4 fish on possession. The game warden was cool with us realizing we all did not know. And didn’t issue any tickets. Also the season closes the day before October 1, no longer open till November 15. Shortened the season. Sucks

Glad you had a good day PNW, but where's the pix? Well there's at least one decent Game warden out there, and it's good that you got him. Whenever they make changes around here, its after the season starts. Do they expect everyone to go online every single time you go out, just to check for changes? Get them done before the season starts, or wait till next year. Anyway, congrats on your good day!

They have change a lot of laws about creek and river fishing for trout this year. Plus they don't print the game books anymore have to go on line. Rather have the book. good fishing

Yeah the game warden clearly knew we had no idea of the change in regulations. Up here till Tuesday so I’ll have to go lake fishing or travel over to hat creek area where it open season now.

YUP-- One of the exact reasons I moved out of California. Too many issues with the commercial rules changes. Last issue was when someone stole all my electronics in the middle of the night. I was a good guy and friendly with all the commercial guys so that ws not an issue. Too much BS politics there.
