Thanks to Wulffy many thoughts cross my mind when i come across a falls like this.

Somewhere in there I would hear, “ Wonder “, wonder if there are fish in that pool

What’s on your mind today?

Bridge is perfectly designed to fit in unobtrusively in this gorgeous place. Must have been awfully difficult project to complete, and that stone staircase : exceptional. I just marvel at what some folks are able to do.

How true nutz. Insight to think of such a undertaking is one thing, actually doing it, like you say quite the marvel.

That is a beautiful picture and yes, after the initial rush of the beauty my mind immediately wanders to how do get down there…and where should I try to cast to first?

I know this place. ❤️ Watkins Glen, less than an hour’s drive. The gorge trail has 832 stone steps altogether and the work is as marvelous as the view. From the website: “Much of the stonework in Watkins Glen State Park was completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, which was active in the park from 1935 to 1941. They built park buildings, trails, stonework, bridges, and many other projects.”
So, not only beautifully designed, but built using 1930s equipment and technology. Amazing.

Wow, the CCC. I knew they did a bunch of public works projects, but had no idea of the broader scope of their work. That Corps. was a wonderful, inspired undertaking, and one of the most ambitious governmental programs ever, keeping people occupied and employed during a terribly dark era for the USA , and the remainder of the world as well.

Check this out Plum. The biggest falls is Muddy Creek Falls. The one with all the people is Swallow Falls. The rock formation is at Swallow Falls. 👍

Deep creek area. Not far from Deep Creek lake. It's nice country up there brother. I use to camp there alot. Overdevelopment has taken much of the charm out of it. Still nice when you get away from the crazy👍👍 The small falls is just to the left of the tee pee. That river runs wild at times. Nature may have stacked it.
