Well things are shaping up.
Don’t know how many read my previous post about me turning in an exceptionally grievous, well a series of exceptionally grievous OSHA violations. To my management and corporate safety manager last week.
Friday morning they escorted me to the door. Paid leave.
I’m a protected employee by law.
Old guy with an ongoing workers comp litigation in process for getting my eye burned out by chemical splash third week on the job. 50% vision loss right eye.
These a$$ clowns said in a meeting last night ( an hour after getting home from boat break in run)
Threatened to fire me if I didn’t cooperate with the “ investigation” Ie coverup.
Also told me “ if I had a dollar for every time someone told me they would call a lawyer , I’d be rich .
I said “ matter of fact, I was on the phone with him 15 minutes ago and he wants a report as soon as this meeting is over , I’ll make that call before I get to the truck”
Then I read off a couple federal regs that they were knowingly not complying with. On ALL machines in the factory.

I do not bluff. If I say I’m gonna kick your butt. I’m gonna kick your butt. Get ready cause someone is gonna bleed. And I try my best to make sure that someone ain’t me . Training .

Well when the showed me the door last Friday , I made 5 calls on way to. Boat dealer.
1 . My lawyer
2 . My old boss who just got promoted to supreme allied commander , asking him if he was interested in getting the band back together .
3 . My wife to catch her up
4 . The boat dealer telling him I’m moving up delivery by a day , hour out.
5. A buddy to ask if he could stop by and help with some last minute rigging.
Got boat home , buddy showed on time , got rigging done , took him to lunch as show of appreciation and had a good buzz on by quitting time.

Got a call from old company HR this morning.
She’s creaming her jeans that she gets to fill the global gaping hole created by my departure.
“Let me see how much money I can pull together to get you what you want. “

Offer letter anticipated by mid day tomorrow.
Once received, I’m gonna grab my tool belt , go to the boss , shake his hand and walk out the door .

Read Art Of War by Sun Tzu. Especially the part where it talks about knowing your adversary.

An highly respected on global stage Engineer expert in the field who is very well connected, who every third friend is either a cop or a lawyer . And who has gained all his success by being particularly ruthless in his business practice over 35 years.
Yea. Ya don’t wanna treat a guy like that lightly.

I’m on someone else’s payroll Monday morning after I sacrifice a couple days pay and going on a Detroit river walleye trip.
Got money in the bank.
I spend a couple days pay partying. No big deal.

Love to fish with ya some day.
Teach me how to catch those stripers day one.
Day two we are betting beers for most and biggest.
Might lose to the master but I’ve wasted money on worse things.
Thanks buddy.

WOW, everything was " sugar and spice" several posts back. Good job, trading for a new boat, lining up with in-laws, then the accident, now out the door!!! Just be careful with workman's comp, they will want to pay you off and go home. My wife had an accident at Air Gas on the loading dock (not her fault-long story). They wanted to pay her off; she said no. Good thing, some surgeries on her back added up to 50K +. She chose "life time medical" and that choice was a blessing to be sure.

We all wish you the best and pray for a complete recovery on the eye. God Bless.

I’ve not been on the stage a lot since I had the surgery in my left thumb. I’m sorry to hear about your eye, Ben. Sounds to me like this company is going to be up to their eyes in fines, and is going to be giving you a boatload of money. Sounds like it couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of creeps.
