We've had a home in Rehoboth Beach, DE since 1998. We relocated here during the pandemic and have since sold our house in Washington DC. After we first bought the house here, I was gifted a Jeep by my parents. I drove it here from Washington State and then began surf fishing. Before my Dad's death in 2005, he'd fly out here and we'd go fishing. I used to catch the mullet in the fall and freeze them for future use. We became pretty good at catching Bluefish when they were running. I am hoping to start up again now that I'm retired. This time the vehicle is Suburu Legacy Outback. I understand from others it works well. (Advice appreciated from other Legacy Owners). Kevin Bliss
Welcome to the stage Kevin. Sounds like you've got the Bluefish figured out. Post photos of whatever you catch, we all like pics.
Welcome Kevin, enjoy your time on the Stage!
Welcome to the stage Kevin We bought a new outback in 2021 and so far we love it. The wife researched everything and decided thatβs what she wanted
Thanks. Have you used it to drive onto the beach for surf fishing?
We have not. I have used it on some pretty poor roads to go hunting but I also have a pick up and use it in the worst places

KRBD. Welcome, good to have you. My Outback was a lot of trouble, Trans went early,( 700 miles ! ) and was warrantee replaced. Engine failed @ 118 K. ECU failed @ 124K. Now at 163K. Have replaced rotors again , alternator, radio, again. Etc. Not a reliable car, and I didn't neglect or abuse it until now. Ready for a new car, and soon.
On the other hand, the ABS saved my bacon one time. I got it for driving to work @ 10:00 PM each night for work, before the snow was cleared. Excellent snow car, good clearance and GREAT A W D system, shares torque between all four wheels perfectly. Adequate acceleration for passing, but not a fast performer. Lots of room for all my fishing gear and more.
Good luck with the Bluefish. Very much under appreciated gamefish that in my estimation is the best lb. for lb. inshore fighter in the Northeast and Mid Atlantic region. Of course we don't have tarpon up here. Too bad. Good Striper fishin' in DE too so you're all set.
