Is it me or is something up with the fish this year. Been out three times this spring and not even a nibble. Yesterday there were probably around 20 people out fishing and I only saw 2 small bass caught. One one other person said they caught a small one. Normally people are catching crappie and bass here by now and I'm not seeing anything. Not even dead fish when the ice melted . Is the water still too cold? Suggestions?

You may be on to something as the water may be too cold. Fish deeper and slower. Vary the depths of your presentations as the fish may be suspended.

I blame the wind, Kenny. I primary fly fish, and you can't do that in the wind, and the wind will blow you off most lakes and rivers too. Damn wind!!!!

It has been windy was going to go out deeper using the Kayak but wind was kicking up so stayed on the bank. Saw 1 boat out each day and they were not catching anything either

Where did you fish? I think the water is a little cold still and they are still out deeper. There where a ton of boats on Erie this weekend. They where catching walleyes in 26ft of water. And there was a nice school of perch by the mouth of the Cuyahoga. Lake temp was at about 50 according to buddy.

Small lake up near Defiance. I had heard that people were catching Walleye but the small lakes I can get to right now are small and pretty much pan fish and black bass.

Those are my favorites! Walleye bite is pretty hot. Heard from a couple guys who caught limits. All within 500 yards of shore.

Oxbow I caught 1 nice large mouth all summer and 1 small one. I caught a small pike and a couple tiny bass at McKarnes. Now lake la su ann was another story. I didn't catch anything on the main lake but wet up to the north side and came back in past Laverne to the last parking area. I fished small lake on the left daughter and boyfriend fished one on the right. I caught 3 nice large mouth. Kurt caught the biggest blue gill I have ever seen.
Problem is it's busy because you can only fish Memorial day to Labor day Friday to Monday. And make sure you know limits and size restrictions.

Thanks for the reply, I read also that once the parking lot is full no one else can go on the lake, that's kind of a deal breaker for me as its over an hour drive for me
