Problem is now that opioids are headline news, their afraid to administer anything that might become addictive. One thing that helps me is an exercise my PT taught me. Lie on your back, one ankle against you opposite knee. Pull lightly towards that knee, while turning your upper body the opposite direction. Gently stretch your back, and hold for 30 seconds. I give each side at least three stretches.

I've been in the hospital since 4-18-22. Was having a hard time breathing and having stomach pains. The hospital didn't even give me my normal pain pills for my back. So that 1st night there I cried, screamed and begged for some relief from my pain level of a 12 to a 13 on a scale of 1 to 10.
They believe that the Ibuprofen is the pain pill. Ibuprofen won't touch my back pain.. AND they were told that.
I'm just so glad to home and out of hell,!!

Have you gone to a pain clinic for your back? It helped me a lot. Mine had progressed to the point that the pain ran down my left leg, Knee and top of my foot.

Your pain is caused by something different. My pain is being mainly caused by my spine deterating.

I have had 2 surgeries on my neck and 4 discs removed and 5 vertebrae fused and wired together. Lower back spine pinching on nerves running out.

This is another reason why I don't want to do surgery.

I consider Myself being saved by an outstanding Neuro Surgeon back in 75 and 77 when I had my neck operated on. I was close to being paralyzed from the neck down. The end result did impact me physically due to stiff neck. In my competitive shooting, the essayist position, prone, became hardest because if you can picture this, laying on floor I could not arch my neck enough to look down range. I had to move my eyes much further up and look past my eye lids and get a partial picture of the target bull. Not sure I explained that good enough to understand. To look up at my apple trees, I have to arch my back to look up enough. At the time I was newly Divorced, promoted to a new Manager position in design for the Navy and my kids were with me and I was concerned about not being able to support them. Thankfully I had just starting dating the love of my life a nurse and she advised me on the two Neuro surgeons in the community. She had dealt with them and their patients in the ICU at the hospital. She said one Was good technically and great bedside manners and the other was GREAT technically and poor bedside manners. I said if someone is going to cut my neck open from the front to operate on my spine, I wanted the best and I could deal with bedside manners. I chose the best Technical Surgeon and and grateful. My new wife advised me. It is now 46 years married to her and gained two great kids in the deal. My Doc didn't want me to do any shooting because of recoil impact on my neck. I said, Doc, my target rifle a .22 weighs 15 1/2 lbs without my sights (iron or scope) so the recoil from the .22 cal is almost non existent so he said OK. So then I took liberties with my hunting rifle and went from my 30.06 180 grain Springfield to a Browning .243 (min by state law) in a BAR with some mods and to Remington 1100 in 20 gauge and .410 from 12 gauge. Never had a problem knocking anything down, just smaller projectile or fewer pellets, but I adjusted. I AM GRATEFUL!
