A message for new users and a reminder for us old timers.
Do you have a tip for the newbies checking out the FS and a refresher for the old timers?
Here are a few i can think of.
1st is read the rules and be kind on your replies.
2nd Keep the personal information in the PM section. This site is nation wide.
3rd Narrow down your fishing location not just bla bla river by the dock.
4th When you respond to a post use the quote reply, helps to follow the post easier.
5th Keep the politics on other sites.
6th When you ask for information a Thanks would be appreciated knowing the information that took time to share was received and read.

# 1 would adherence would solve a lot E.
Trouble is this post will begone when the next nu b .comes along. something like this should be part of sign up. Also too many posts are so vague no one help.
I'll go sting on #1 n #6. I've seen some really uncalled for comments. Also seen too many ask for info n never let anyone know if it helped or they even got it. 👍
Great message Plum, but I agree with Charlykilo. These should be introduced at sign-up time, Attention Admin.
As far as questions go, and I'm speaking mainly in freshwater, a hotspot is only that way when there's lots of fish, but few fishermen. When you ask :Where, when, what bait, you are asking people to give you information that they spent a lot of time, effort and money to acquire. You want to jump to the head of the line without putting in the effort to learn these things yourself. If you want to become a serious fisherman, you must learn about your prey, their habits, and behavior. Most can be applied to everywhere that species lives, anywhere in the country.
Most importantly, if someone gives you useful information, by all means, they deserve a response, and a thank you, for making your attempts that much easier. Otherwise you may see less and less being forthcoming.
THIS IS NOT SERI OR ALEXA!!!
all good plumb. maybe #5 should add "or the attic but keep the way to the attic secured"
Hahaha yeah what they all said👍 😁

Another one of your good ideas, plum.
I agree with FF, no one is going to say go here with this bait for this fish when the wind is from the SE. more likely we can help them by telling them that in their area these methods work pretty well this time of year. At least they won’t go buy a pin fish lure if they’re fishing for sunfish.

Good point Charlay. Maybe an occasional posting of this topic would help all involved by more than one user once in awhile.
I can't remember when i actually looked up the rules if it was part of the sign in agreement or not.
