going to take my yearly spring fishing trip over at Potholes out side mosses lake and catch some walleye for my freezer in mid May. Most likely I will take out my grandkids to do some trout fishing on the west side of the mountain also in may and early June and then hopefully on to Salmon Mid July in the sound. so what are your plans

there is a halibut and ling cod season but they are fairly short and the rock fish are closed altogether. Although you can fish for the other flat fish and there are a lot of them around but you can not fish any deeper than I believe 150' deep for them and need to have on board a fish desender devise so read the regs very carefully and know the different areas you want to fish in. They all have different rules and regulations. You will find Salmon is the big fishery in your area although the seasons do change from year to year and where you can fish so again read the regs. If you just want some fun there are tons of "dog fish" around while they are not bad eating if you are careful to skin them and soak them in milk most just let them go but they are easy to catch with herring strips and fun to real in. Watch the tides and weather and have fun and welcome to NW Washington.

Halibut opened 4/8 near Sequim
Thursdays- Sundays I think
Heard of 3 fish caught that day We we’re fishing on bottom with live bait- herring, octopus, etc
A little early still?

Ling cod and rockfish over at Neah Bay
I’ve done well jigging rockfish off the bottom
The way they change things up in Wa you have to really be on top of regs and updates via phone or online
Salmon will be coming in July and August
Not familiar with your marine area, I usually fish 11 and 13 and buoy 10 on Columbia

Rockfish are my favorite salt water fish for eating. For thrills I’ll take salmon.

First, thanks to all of you for the information. I am coming up to Washington in May to visit my son and his family. I would love to take my son and his family fishing. Any suggestions for guided fishing? My son lives in Monroe and that probably puts us one to two hours from the coastal waters but any recommendations will be appreciated.
