We will be fishing for crappie and bass early May on Lake Shelbyville, IL. Any advance ce and tips would be appreciated!

Have you tried to Google the states fishing reports on Lake Shelbyville? I would start there. Next, I would Google the Bait shops near where you intend to fish. Those people are always on top of what's happening in their pond. Just Sayin....RJS

Have not been there this year but, the crappie are said to be biting. You can always read Steve Welch blog at Lake Shelbyville Fishing and maybe pick up some tips from that.

Fished there last year about this time the bite was good. Shallow water the fish were still in. The weather been pretty cool this year don't know if they are still shallow. Might be going in a week or two.
