Fished Capers Reef this morning…. nothing exciting but Winds kicked up and a long rough ride in… just for the heck of it fish the narrows 500 yards from where we were staying and battled this red on a medium heavy spinning rod with #5 circle hook with shrimp with 1 oz sinker on the bottom for 10+ minutes…

I hope to fish for them one day and I’ll be happy with one 1/2 that size!

Nice Red Duck! I predict that the next trip will burn much less fuel. Thanks for the picture, and congrats on the great catch.

My largest was 24 to 26 inches. My son caught a 24 inch for his first on a snoopy rod and reel set when he was 5, and I still hear about that one lol🤣🤠
But he always loved fishing after that and that is what it's all about

Real nice nc, love your area and love those Drum. Looks like your that catch may have went back since it appears past the 27"

My PB from down Belhaven way was 26 1/2". Shrimp is definitely the go to bait.
