Don't have any help, but visited there in 71 & 73. Didn't fish, post military confusion on priorities. But, what a gorgeous past of NY State. Nice folks too, not an unfriendly or rude person encountered there on my visits.
That beautiful country should mellow anyone out.
Pix I just rustled up on the web show how nice the Lake is. You need to hit the bait shop, bowling alley, barber shop, diner, church, tag sales, whatever.. and talk up your fishing hobby, there must be loads of people who located there primarily for the fishing. Get to know 'em. You've got 2 weeks.
I expect you'll get some help here as well. Patience, everybody in the Northeast was fishing today.

Look for a place in between lake George and fort Ann it’s called Copeland pond Big fish in there
The shallow, weedy parts along shore and in the southern bays-dunham, huddle, basin and andrew. and the northern bays- indian, sunset and mossy point...goodluck
