Took a bunch

4-11, A bunch of us loaded up and went looking for Eyes... Day started cloudy, windy and almost cold, didn't end that way. Went on up to the "Bago" chain to see if we could find fish. Catching was awesome. Lots of fish. We boated around thirty Walleye. Turned a bunch back. Water temp was right and spawning was happening. We were really looking for one Hog so we stopped boxing fish one short of the five-guy limit. As luck would have it just like a switch everything ended. Couldn't put another fish in either boat and couldn't "ReDo" any of those releases to limit out...But we did end up with 14 nice eyes and a couple bonus White Bass.. Those are next on the list. They should start showing up here in a week or two at worst.
The hot set ups were 1/4oz lead head Jig (Gold) Blue and White lead head. Everything minnow tipped. Vertical Jig on the drift. Only moving a inch or so off the bottom. Fun!

Nice day guys, congrats!
I was always told the white bass will run when the lilacs are blooming, so probably a month from now, at least.

OJ, We picked up a couple in the system already. All about water temp. We have been so dry I'm betting the White Bass will be passing the Eyes this year. I see it's going to cool off again but with no run off I'm thinking early and fast for the White bass.

Nice catching Lip, sorry you couldn't find a Hog, but a great day none the less. At least it wasn't snowing . LOL. Thanks for the pictures.

Nice eyes LS. Always blows my mind how fishing can be so hot and then turn off like a light switch.

That happens ALL the time striper fishin. The fishin can be just red hot and catchin fish on nearly EVERY cast and then all of a sudden they just disappear.
Stripers are a schooling fish so we're sure the school just moves. HOWEVER, no matter where we go to look for them they are NOWHERE to be found. At least not by us.
On those days we always say, " If you weren't here right at that time, you'd think there wasn't a fish in the river."

Thanks to everyone that has posted. It was a great trip. Unfortunately life has returned to life and I have been returned to handling some less pleasant issues.
Maybe it was a well needed break from turmoil. No matter, I’ll take that kind of break any day.
Thanks again…
