Welcome to the Stage Rude View send some pictures our way I'm sure you have some amazing underwater pics that we'd enjoy seeing. Good Luck with your halibut fishing 🇺🇸🎣😎👍
It's been years ago but I have both boat and scuba fished for Halibut at Tomales Bay. Scuba can be dangerous and requires a dive buddy and a chase boat and must be done on the incoming tide only! That being said it can be productive provided you have 8-10 ft. of visibility. when boat fishing we always fished Incoming tide and drifted from the mouth into the bay past Lawson's. We drifted using a live bait rig with a drop weight just heavy enough to bounce the bottom. We always caught our own live bait (small Pearch) near Lawson's. If memory serves me correctly April/May was the best time but you may want to double check. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hey RV. Welcome to the stage. I live in Windsor and have fished for Halibut several times out of a boat in Tomalas
Bay. Never have been divin for them though.
One of the last times I was out there I met a guy comin in off the water that was a diver and he was tellin me of all the Halibht that he's speared in the Bay and even more outside the bay.
Would like to meet you sometime. However, I don't think I can dive anymore. It's just been WAY too long since I've done it.
I haven’t dove Tomales Bay or vicinity. I know to many people who have encountered the land lord there, including one attack survivor. I’ll stick in my kayak with a rod or reel.

Well in that case. There are LOTS of people that kayak fish there. EVERY Saturday all you have to do is go to Miller Boat Launch at Nicks Cove on Tomalas Bay and there will usually be plenty of Yakers goin out first thing in the morning.
