Hi all! I'm a Sacramento native have been fishing Sacramento and American rivers for 50 +years. I remember riding my bike down to discovery park with my pole and a bag of worms and raw bacon. it was a 6 mile ride and I was only 8. end of the 60s . things were much different then. I did quite well for a kid . so anyway I have had a boat all my life so lucky enough to be on the water. this year started out slow but first cast got a decent keeper. caught 5 more and my girlfriend caught 6. was a great afternoon . may the fishing gods bless all with tight lines and great catches.

Welcome to the Stage BigdaddyC. Nice intro Striper, and great memory story. Yep our bikes were our SUVs, took us everywhere.
Welcome to the Stage!
Yes Sir, if we wanted to get anywhere it was by pedal power, but it opened up new worlds for us. No backpacks back then for me so the rod was tied to the seat and extended over the handlebar. The tackle box was held onto with a death grip along with the bike grip and you just switched hands every mile or so.
