Bought a used fortrex 112 pound troll ing motor with a 2d tranduser. Have a 9 in fish finder up front. Thinking of adding a second fish finder to trolling motor tranduser. Is it a good thing to have 2 up front.

Is it a side scan type, or downscan?
The reason I ask is it doesn't make sense to put a second screen up, to see the same type of image. I believe that the 2-D transducers in the trolling motors will only do standard sonar. Unless yours has the Hummingbird TD which does downscan I think.

You may have to put a side mount on for the Bird TD, I don't think you can put it right next to the built-in one, but I could be wrong so investigate before you spring for another unit. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
