So per my previous post , I’ve been working with bass pro on a new Nitro z18.
Knowing I would have to strip electronics to get the totally integrated Lowrance electronics package. Depth finders , trolling motor Jack plate , power poles etc.
they were way unresponsive for any add ons. Big charge for rigging etc . Just wanted to sell as is . So I told myself I’d eat it. Sell the old , buy the new and do the rigging myself.
No big deal. I can do that
Go to my credit union and they show a credit rating of 744 so it’s yes sir anything you want sir with the best interest rate available anywhere. Got the deal done.
So we get the deal done. Money in my account immediately .
I got boat loan and upgrade loan sitting there waiting on a PO from bass pro. $62k in hand and I call my bass pro guy to update.
He says to me “ I’m so sorry. This is our demo model , you will have to order from factory. Delivery August” AND they short changed me on my Lund trade in big time! Like $8k
Like you gotta be freeking kidding me!! I got a suitcase full of money, and you ain’t got a boat to sell!!!
Screw that!!
I called Freedom outdoors out of St Mary’s Ohio. My father in law did all his business there .
They have 2 in inventory , and one is the Blavk and Red I want and it’s equipped with the Lowrance ghost TM and a couple smaller Lowrance depth finders than the series I want. So out of pocket just got $4k smaller and I’m gonna repurpose one of the depth finders for dual bow system.
Then the bass pro guy calls me and said his manager called HQ and they authorized sale.
Told him “ it’s like this, you really pissed me off with that move. I’m giving someone else my hard earned money. Have a nice day! ( which is my wife and mine code to go F yourself)
Gonna order my upgrades on Amazon , drop ship to this other dealer , and pick it up when everything’s ready. Probly 3 weeks.
Easy peasy.
BPS is great if you want to buy what they got on the floor ( if they actually have it) but they are a PITA if you want anything custom.
For the Lund. I’m transferring funds , paying off balance and putting it on the market for fair market value.
Pocket the profit and pay off other stuff.
I’m not gonna give away $8k
Heck , you’d have a hard time getting me to give away $100 unless it was to a great charity like the National MS society ( who do fantastic things for people who really need help)
Imaging , getting the money is the EASY part.

Sorry to learn this Ben. Hard to believe they would jerk you around like that at BPS and pass up a sale. Glad you found what you need and good luck with the sale of the current boat!

I feel your pain and understand you 100% I’m going through some major issues with bass pro/Tracker right now bought a brand new boat from them took 6 months to deliver and when I go to pick up the Lawrence fish finder don’t work and they didn’t run the wire from battery to trolling motor working on them fixing this issue as I write ✍️ this

Had the same problem with BPS here in California!
Went to buy a new boat 3 years ago was going to put a third down and we have perfect credit I get a phone call from there head quarters and they want to charge us 15% on the balance of the loan it was to for ten years to pay off I called them back and ask them if they were Crazy 🤪 canceled the order and bought a boat from my buddy that was two years old and kept in his garage and all the paperwork on the maintenance and the boat looked like new and I own it !! Now payments !!
I don't think they really want to sell boats??

My Son inlaw had the same trouble with his Z18
Bass boat 10 years ago broke down him 3 times in
Row and each time they said they had fixed it
And he had to be towed in each time. Plus the the tires going out coming home from the lake.
They finally fixed it and gave him a 500.00 gift card.

Got a buddy who owns a construction / remodeling business
My garage needs to be longer and garage door needs to be a foot wider to park boat in the garage. Keeps potential lookie loos away , and keeps me from having to break out the ole Winchester tactical to keep some punk from stealing my stuff to buy meth. Good investment
He will give me the friends and family rate.

Basic package to get ya goin
. Been doing this for a while and researched and trialed different things to know exactly what you want out of your investment . Well that’s a different story.
You can custom order direct from Nitro and get your exact specification but lead time if I order today is August. If and only if they don’t delay.
Not ready to hand over a butt load of cash and miss the whole season. Done missing seasons.
I wanna pick up my rig , take it for a break in run, change the oil and go for a 4 day outing the next weekend.
