Hi April. It should be on the plate attached to the inside of the transom, with the Horsepower, and capacity limits. If the plate is missing, the number on the old registration should be acceptable. Every state has different rules for tracing ownership. Unfortunately some are more helpful than others. Good Luck.

Hey April if it's older than 1972 it probably doesn't have one. If ya can't find one Get ahold of Kentucky fish and wildlife about it
There's not a number anywhere that I can find .I have sanded and painted the boat I think I would've seen the number..

Hi April, I think the Sheriff's department will just send you to the DMV. I think you will have to pressure them for more help. If they can't/won't/don't help you, I have no idea who can help you. Maybe check with the CO, the game warden, or the Water Patrol. They will be the ones who will give you a ticket for not having it registered. They should be able to help you. Be careful in the 10'er, and make sure you have your PFD ON
I would contact the DMV to see if you can title it for registration. I canβt believe they wouldnβt help you to do the right thing.

I had good luck several times when I tried to register pre-1980 boats in Arizona with Game and Fish. They understood, and issued me a new # and even an aluminum plate to install. Good luck!
Try an email/phone call to your representative in the Kentucky Legislature/Assembly. That usually gets the bureaucrats moving.
I've heard the coast guard is the one to issue a new number .hate to say our sheffifs dept us excuse my french like pissing in the wind around here..I'm gonna try fish and game..and I'm a full blown safety girl when it comes to water safety..happy fishing

Did you get ahold of your state wildlife agency. Do you live close by a lake where you can talk to a park ranger or a wildlife officer they should be able to help ya. I don't know who told you that about the coast guard but I don't think that's trueπ€
I do live very close to water like 2 minutes away..good ol rough river lake..I'm gonna try fish and game or Corps of engineers and see what they have to say .hopefully I will be mobile soon..it's that time
