I just wish that I was able to come and celebrate with you on this special occasion. Congratulations on this accomplishment, it’s well deserved. Your going to love your new life. Welcome to the club… 🐟on

Fred,
Hate to tell you but you will miss work!! Maybe for only a minute or two,but you will miss it👍👍. Okay - maybe not!!😝😝 Enjoy the moment and the years ahead. You will look back and ask “ WHY THE HECK DID I NOT DO THIS SOONER??!! “
Do you have short timer syndrome yet?? Take advantage to sit back and observe from a ‘soon to be ex-employee’ point of view and express your likes and dislikes of the job to the higher ups. What they gonna do - make you retire earlier. So glad you are coming over to the enjoying life club. Take care buddy.

Thanks everyone. Not really Duane, I'm trying to get the place in good shape for the next generation to take over. Management is just trying to talk me out of it LOL.

That's the plan Ed. If I get truly bored, I'll look for a part time Tackle shop job like Brad has. That wouldn't be working in my book.

Man do I envy you and all the others who have retired or are soon to. Got another three to five years depending if I get the red$&@ or not. Tell your boss you can come back periodically for an yet to be determined amount to kick a$$ and take names. Good luck Fred. You’ve earned it. 👍

Thanks Four. Maybe in the Fall if the weather sucks, I'd consider a couple days a week. I don't think they'll do anything under the table, so I'll have to check on the tax ramifications. We'll see. For the time being, just waiting on good weather, so I can get the boat ready.
Speaking of weather, how did you make out with the recent storms? I heard NOLA got wacked pretty good, and in the 9th ward none the less.

The bad weather went north and south of us. How’s that for luck. Mississippi got it pretty bad. Arabi, is below the 9th ward and above Chalmette. They took a beating. My SIL was in downtown NO in an 18th floor office when the outer winds went through. Said the windows were shaking. I believe there was one fatality, a young high school kid who ran in their house to take shelter and it went right through their house. What a shame.

That is a shame, the poor kid was just looking for a place to hide . Glad you guys made out alright, and your SIL is ok. I don't think I'd want to be in a high rise when something like that blows thru.
The Spring storms are starting pretty roughly this year.
