Reason I'm so familiar with that
one is that I've screwed up a time
or two (or three, or more) in that department, which brings up
another appropriate adage, resulting from screwing up on this one -

"Open mouth, insert feet, chew vigorously to kneecap !"

Probably applies to most of us
at one point or another in our
lives - fortunately, I smartened
up early from taking my grand-
father's sage advice !

as well, so that you don't repeat THEIRS !"

That may have not only saved me from serious injury a time or two,
but may have actually saved my
life on more than one occasion !

My dad told me when I was young to keep my mouth shut and listen. You can learn a lot of useful things that way and sometimes save yourself a lot of grief

For sure Big A, however stripped a few gears now and then. Sometimes spew still comes out.

Foot in mouth disease cost me more than 1 date girl would make a dumb statement and I would make a smart remark get a good laugh by everyone except her girl never speak to me again
