Comes a time for all of us. Helpers to needing a little help. Traded labor, mostly worked. Now, partners, to old to help. We're on our own. Your chores are your own. Paying commercial prices for every service. That's OK. Though I wound'nt have dreamed of charging today's prices. Send a helper and charge me three times a journeyman wage.

A friend of mine had a house fire. All that was left was a foundation and a big mess. Not one person from the church he went to would lend a hand in the cleanup. Only his neighbor came to help. He lives across the state and never called to let me know what happened. Shortly after he built his new house he moved that I heard about and went to help. It is hard to get people to help with anything now. Sure is disappointing.

A very active member. I had the misfortune of being a member of a church that was mostly talk and no action. I was used and abused volunteering to help but most of the time was on my own with nobody else pitching in. I helped alot of people with different things only to find nobody could help me when I needed it. I didn't do it to get something back, but I sure learned alot from them. Moved on to a different church to find the same thing. Disappointed, but still keeping the faith I do know he will never let me down.

Just curious because i go every week and sit in the same pew with the same small group.

No one else even knows me. So not being an active member other than saying my prayers and donating what i can to the offertory basket i wouldn't expect help unless i asked.

There are some good people in the church but alot of the others seem to do it to impress others. Some want to preach to everybody they meet, others are looking for that pat on the back. I try not to be critical and give them a chance to change my mind but I go away disappointed. I'm sure I size people up too quickly but I'm not wrong most of the time. I pray for help in my judgemental tendencies so its a work in progress. Part of that included getting away from them for now. I know we are all working on something so they may change and I may change, until then I can only do what I can do.

Takes all kinds Bob. I think we all have met our share of those that you mention. It's what we do after the encounters is where we find peace with ourselves.

Hi Bob I guess church is like alot o things in life. You're either there because you really want to be or you're then because you have to be like work n school or you're there for show. Trying to make people believe you're more than you are like going to church thinking you're fooling people. You may fool others like you but you can't full everyone all the time. Especially in church. I also form n opinion at first sight but keep n open mind till I know for sure. 👍🤑
