Good morning all. I’m new on here and new to the northeast Oklahoma area. With gas being what it is, if anyone needs a co angler I’ll buy gas n beer/pop. I have a kayak and also would like someone to fish with. I need a lil education on the local scene. Thank y’all for any and all advice. God bless everyone and have a great day!!

Welcome Wag. You're surrounded by great fishing. The Illinois River which runs through Tahlequah, just to the west of Stilwell, has many entry points & it's common right now to catch good smallmouth. A kayak is just the ticket. Go north on highway 10 just as you cross the Illinois on the east side of Tahlequah. Entry points start about 1 mile up the road but you can go several miles up if you like. One good place to start is No Head Hollow about 4 miles up. You must go about 2 miles up hwy 10 to the River Ranger headquarters & purchase a boat permit. It'll set you back a whopping $1. Take highway 100 south out of Stilwell to lake Tenkiller. The smallmouth are hitting good right now & the crappie are hitting on jigs. That's just a start. Good luck & tight lines.
