Just got back from 3 days of fishing Pyramid Lake, NV. For those of you who haven’t heard of Pyramid, it’s home to the Lohontan Cutthroat Trout (one of the largest trout in the world). The current World record is 41 lbs! While I didn’t catch one quite that big, I did catch my PB of 11.5 lbs, and most were in the 7 - 8 lb range. While most fish are caught Flyfishing (from a ladder), they can also be caught from shore with spinning gear, or trolling from a boat. Whatever your choice, I highly recommend Lake Pyramid for a chance to catch the Trout of a lifetime.

Below is a pattern that a friend of mine was using last week
TNK Tackle in Layton CA
Pyramid 3-12-22
We hooked up 29 fish in the Warriors area.
We caught them on downriggers between 13 and 24ft, 100 ft and 80 ft setbacks,
Most of the fish were caught on long lines with 1.5 oz banana weighs 100 to 260ft back at
2.8 to 3.05 mph.
The tackle that worked best were the SideSwipe in Sour Grape, UV Pink, Killer lime and Lemon Lime colors.
