Rod trigger update

The zip ties I originally used to fasten the trigger were not comfortable for my grip, so I cut them off and replaced them with 50lb braid I had laying around. Much, much smoother, secure and you can't feel it when gripping the rod and trigger. After a few casts I'm convinced this is my go-to set-up.
(note: reel loaded with 30lb braid)

You know, when the Padre brought this up about triggers, I was completely in the dark. I'd never heard of the product or the situation that made it necessary. When I You-Tubed it I found a whole bunch of information and I ordered a couple for my beach set-ups. I have experienced having the bail close during casts and snapping the line but I never had it lacerate my finger. It's a good thing you guys keep me up on stuff!

If you are going to use zip ties, you have to cut off flush with something razor sharp or leave the tag on
