I went out this morning to Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands to mark off on one of my bucket list items there is a cliff on the west side of the Beach above a quarter mile up the hill I’ve been wanting to go climbing down to what is called Hawk tail beach 🏝 not a easy climb I ran 150 feet of rope down the cliff and still had to scurry the last 20 feet with no rope anyway I did managed to get one legal Cabazon 16 inch long then the water got rough so climb back up
Here is a picture of the fish and a short video of the area
Sweet D! What an adventure, looks so cool, thanks for posting the pic and video!
Nice D. I may still be crazy enough to try that. Getting back up may be a problem. I was always climbing trees and rocks. Just because I could. 👍👍

Awesome little private spot D, although my climbing days are over. Nice fish and area.

Loc: POMME DE TERRE LAKE MISSOURI
Interesting story and video I'd take a boat
I won’t go back down again but I just had to give it a try
The climbing up was just as scary as going down
When we got back on top a lady was walking by and commented that she wouldn’t advise that climb to anyone
But I had to give it a try and at least I didn’t come away empty handed
Looks like a grand adventure. Thanks for sharing!
Man I did crazy stuff like that until I was way too old to be doing it, or even trying to do it. Which is probably why now some mornings my back hurts so badly I can barely get myself to the baño. So be it. I don't regret a single day. Couple of nights maybe? Good job D. Keep on keepin on!
Well, you can check that one off the bucket list, congrats on the effort and you were awarded with a fish!

Good for you! Nice and secluded and had fish on in addition!
That really big cab is still in that cove. You are going to have to go back. If I could do it I would go back over and over. What a great cove. I used to go to spots like that near Big Sur and Point Lobos. There was a time when I expect you would have had to carry a limit of black abalone up that rock on the way home. Keep up the adventures. Though I can not join you, you have my moral support. Just for fun, try a 2 inch gulp alive sand worm, camo color. I am very curious as to how well it works. They were not yet available when I lived in Monterey. Up here in the sound, they are about all I use any more for cabs, flat fish and greenling. I catch more than my share of rock fish with them, but turn them loose as they are protected now. I also get an occasional ling on them. I usually fish two hooks. one size 4 with sand worm strung on it and the other with something else. I go with the small hook because rock sole greenling have such small mouths. Good luck.
Looks like a scene from here to eternity. That was awesome video . Glad you caught something . Ninja warrior fishing . I think too ready to go to naked and afraid 😂👍
I’m with Fred. My climbing days are over as well. But dude, well done!

Nice catching D, but I see you are a wise man too, not to do it again. I did a lot of that years ago, not going to do it any more, walking over a sand dune is almost too much today!
