I was wondering if any one ever read a story years ago about how rattling lures may have been invented.. I forget what brand lure it was but the manufacturer was getting complaints about not enough of the rattle ones being on store shelves and also that store owners were complaining about customers going through all the lures and shaking them to see if they would rattle. It turns out the company never made ones that rattled. They were putting bb's in the lures to cast farther and sink faster. The lures had a hollow chamber on each half of the lure that was supposed to contain the bb's when the two sides were glued together but as it happened a few got loose now and then in the assembly process.
