If you are a hooker on the course ๐๏ธYou will become a hooker on the water just keep at it. Check with a local fishing shop they will be happy to help you.
I have a 6:40 tee time tomorrow ๐
Clark's Hill is thirty minutes away and Broadway tackle is on Broad street. You can canoe down town Augusta. Georgia has more lakes than most people think for. Lakes include Seminole, Eufalla, West Point, Altoona, Heartwell, Richard B Russell, Clark's Hill, Sydney Lanier, Sinclair, Blackshear, and Oconee. Plus numerous rivers and streams.AS well as lesser lakes and costal fishing. There are bass clubs in the Augusta area. If you want to golf and fish Alabama has many state parks in lakes with golf courses and tennis courts. 1-800-ALA-park.

The best thing about golf is fishing in the water traps if it is allowed.

Rich . . . . Fishing is not too much like golf in the teaching/learning aspect. Not like going to a golf course and finding a pro to fix your slice.
I M O the best thing to do is join a local fish and game club, hang out with them until someone invites you to accompany them to a fishing venue. Watch, Listen, pay for bait and gas, and absorb the information. Most guys appreciate beer too, but not my idea of what angling is all about. Personally I don't think boats, fish hooks, gaffs, and alcohol mix well. Imbibing doesn't help your swimming or other survival skills much either.
Visit a bait & tackle shop and ask around for help. Be humble, it wont kill ya ! Good Luck. . . . .
As I said and nutz4fishing a bait and tackle shop like Broadway bait and tackle in Augusta Georgia is a good place to start. Check out the local bass clubs and fly rod clubs. Clark's Hill has several good tackle stores . If you have a canoe the canal system in Augusta has a pretty good bit of fishing just right for spinning reels and Beatle spin fish. Also the brick yard has a pay to fish area and they rent boats.
The old brickyard in Augusta has several ponds. There used to be some decent duck hunting in the Augusta area as well. I spent three years at MCG
