Been fishing at Saguaro lake 2 times this season, and only caught blue gill so far from the east fishing dock. Used hook with power bait and weight 2 feet off bottom. No fish with casting lures yet.
Try putting a night crawler on center hooked in place of the power bait. It may generate a bite from something else. I am one for constant change if what I am doing is not achieving the results I want.

Saguaro is a tough lake due to all the boats and jet ski's, but if you cruise along the banks toward the dam from the marina, into the deeper water, there are more fish. ditto if you go far enough up the lake to get away from all the activity. after the sun goes down most people are off the lake and the fishing off the docks gets better. worms, power bait, minnows, all do better in the moonlight. Also the points off of Butcher Jones beach can be fairly productive.
3rd trip used power bait and salmon eggs and marshmallows. No luck catching fish.
4th trip to west side of lake used night crawlers, no luck, no fish. Just ordered 8 spinning rooster tails different colors to try next. More later, and ordered garlic oil to soak my fake worms in. I'll let you know what works for bass in saquaro lake. Hula poppers no luck yet.
