I caught this 13.5" Spotted Bass, within 5 minutes of putting my pole in the water. And 8 hours later, it still was the only one I caught. But it was 74 degrees (warm even for us), sunny. Very spring-like, but I assure you winter doesn't let up that easy. Going out tomorrow again, in hopes of some tight lines. Good little fighter. Let him go to grow some more.

BTW what water temp, causes bass to go into pre-spawn? We're at 44 degrees now.
Thx

Nice Bass Slug! What's becoming a popular phrase around here ; One is better than none! I'd love to catch a Spot, we don't have them. Up here they start around 50°, which varies drastically from lake to lake.

THX. My wife & I got skunked on Thursday for 9 hours, 1 bite, 1 on, for 2 seconds, and that was it for the 2 of us. Just weird, couldn't even get the Blue Gill to bite. But it was 78 degrees and sunny, very light breeze once in a while. I officially got my first sunburn of the season. It was a great, beautiful day on the lake, some fishing action would have been nice...
