Worked a paper route in my
early teens - made about
$10/week(with tips) - at 16
(1965), worked in a local
restaurant as a dishwasher for $0.95/hr. until I paid for my
driving lessons and got my
license !
Shortly after getting license, the owner came in and wanted me to clean up somebody's mess - told
him he could clean it himself, as
I was done with that job !
OJ - Was that 'pursuit of happiness' along the lines of 'getting lucky' or
participating in the 'submarine
races' ?
(Inquiring minds want to know !)

Oh yeah! ππ»πππ»
Thank you, PB ! I can still read all the posts in all sections, but I still can't respond or reply except via the Attic or in PMs - no idea how long I'm
going to be in limbo, but I'm not
going anywhere else !
OJ - Same here, buddy ! Couldn't
wait to get my license (Dec.1965), then my first car ('57 Chevy/July, 1966) - plenty of room in THAT back seat (for wh**ever) ! That said, the term 'four on the floor' carried a double meaning - it could be a standard shift pattern for a manual
t***smission, OR a 'double-date' !

You are welcome Big A. Anytime.
It's really nice to know I still have friends on here that I can depend
on, even without asking for favors !
This venue is my only social media, and has helped me get through
some difficult times since I've
signed on, which is more than
I can say for my (so-called) family !

How you doin Big? I see you're still in the Twilight Zone. No word on the length of your sentence? Hopefully it will be over soon, and you can rejoin us at the big table.LOL.
Thanks, guys ! The help and moral support are much appreciated !
Fred - I consider the Attic to be the 'big' table, if only for the lack of censorship - language and politics
are 'adult' matters and the 'big' table
was always for the adults and/or the 'older' kids ! At least here I can voice my opinions and/or use 'adult'
language when I get wound up over some issue without fear of being censored or reprimanded !
That said, I miss responding to
a lot of the jokes and funny memes/captions on GCC, and
trying to help folks on the 'Main'
and 'Location-Specific' sections
when/if I can contribute anything
helpful !

Keep the night light on up there Big A. We have some others pushing the limits you just may company before long.
Not to worry ! The cobwebs are cleared, any/all spiders have been eliminated/eradicated, we've got
A/C, fans, a 50" widescreen TV,
sofa and lounge chairs, and the
fridge is packed with beer, soda and/or iced tea ! Hard liquor is
BYOB, but we can stock mixers
and I'll be bringing my blender
in to make margaritas and other mixed drinks ! It's all under control !

Just the price we pay for being
straightforward and outspoken regarding our convictions and
beliefs, especially if you're on
the 'right' side of the fence !
