Welcome aboard. We have a wall hanger pro on here from Tennessee. Good luckđź‘Ť
Bob: I believe your best chance is to hire a guide to fish Toledo Bend. He will have the most up-to-date information about large bass and will take you to the most likely spots, which you can visit again later. Just Sayin...RJS
fished a tournament there this weekend fishing started off slow but we ended up catching some fish, once it warmed it later in the day. depending on if the lake level comes up should be able to find some in the bushes around 1215 area, right now lake is about 3 foot and no bushes to flip. we caught our fish on a senko on the bank also dropped on e around 7lbs at boat. wouldve taken 2nd in tourney but spun prop and never made it to weigh in.
After being stranded once, due to prop failure, I learned to always carry a spare prop. I had been fishing in Falcon Lake, which at the time was at a very high level. I had gotten a lot of grass on my prop which finally caused the prop and the rubber clutch, or whatever is inside the prop to slip, and finally, fail. I was in the land cut when it failed, about 8 to 10 miles from the dock. Fortunately, another fisherman came by who had a spare that he lent me, which was enough to limp home. Just Sayin....RJS
very true RJS we have never had that happen to us, we will have a spare prop from now on. worse part about it was missing the weigh in.
That is the price we pay when we aren't prepared for all contingencies. Sorry for your loss. Just Sayin...RJS
My favorite black red flake 6” lizards after dark hit the boat houses and docks with lights on them and hit the banks and small points in coves , I start hitting the boat houses with lights at night starting beginning of January and catch a lot of good fish, March is busy with a lots of fishermen beating the banks , calm night lights around the boat houses catches bass , boat houses owners drop trees around the boat houses to catch cripple and the trees hold the bass and if you find some under water green lights you will see the Shad’s on top of the water and you will see the bass shoot across eating the Shad’s , cast under the boat house and if you feel trash down on bottom fish it good then go look for other boat houses with lights , sometimes you catch a few then the bite slows down then hit another boat house . Then I go back 1 hour or so later and pick up a few more, I catch a lot of bass from January Thru April all at night. Hope this will help you get on some good bass .
