I lived in northern Illinois Stream Wood
I always had good luck in the Fox River near
Elgin there is a small dam rocky bottom caught a small mouth 3 1/2 pounds was my
Largest but there is Walleye and channel cats there was a bait shop there also
A little more north to Mchenry dam is a great place also then you have chain o lakes
Fox lake. But I was there 20 years ago
Some rivers have those flying Asian carp

Davgram59, having moved from Winfield two years ago I don’t think the DuPage has changed much. It primarily a runoff spillway, there are fish in it but it’s probably best to be catch and release. Road runoff and fertilizer runoff really doesn’t make fish taste good.
