I have always bought the boot style of hip boot/wader. I have never tried the stocking foot style. Which is best is it the cost ? Of one over the other or is it better that the shoe can be a better fit????
Any one have a answer. Thank you for your input

Well, it depends on the depth of the water. If it's not much over knee deep, I would opt for boot foot hip waders.
If you're gonna be in deeper water than that it might come over the top of hip boots so I would go for stocking foot chest waders. Wear a wading belt for added safety though. Specially in movin water.
Also, the temp of the water. If it's cold you'll probly want neoprene. If not I would go with something like Simms fly weight wader.
I have the boot type and that is what I like .
I have both type I like them both but the best wadders to get is the hip ones you can wade a little deeper then with just the leg ones if you fall in you still can get them off not like the chest wadders.
I also have both and like the boot foot better with felt soles. Gives better footing in slippy places
I've had both and I like the stocking ones better for warmer water and purchase my own good quality felt/spike boots. Simms makes them in both...the insulated are quite heavy and would suggest a good vest with auto inflate if you go in and always with a belt with either. My favorite now is rubber boots and a drift boat with someone else doing the work!!!!
If you have to walk any distance get the stocking food waders. Far better foot/ankle support as well. The stocking foot boots last far longer than the waders do so you can replace leaky waders cheaper with the stocking foot type.
Stocking foot over boot foot. You can change your foot wear to match the terrain (sp). And the boot foot leaks where the hard boot meets the flexable leg.

I don't like any of them, but I would rather not get wet, so, I go with the waders with the wading boot, much easier to walk in.

You may have a point there

Good points to think about
I like the boot foot style as I also hunt with them. Some of the wading shoes have been outlawed due to felt soles and the potential for transfer of invasive species.

Yes i like to cast while someone rows
I have the self inflatable type vest and hip boots and chest waders regular and neapream but all have the molded boot here
In the BEAUTIFUL PACIFIC NORTHWEST
The water can be cold so I wear heavy socks inside my boots. But i can see maybe the
advantage of the stocking foot style and then add the shoe over it but my waders are
new my hips are not so new but don’t leak
Thank you for your feedback
