Last spring nothing much had changed except the size and bag limits. Bloodworms are still the best bait.

Fished there last spring by boat and loaded up on shorts, returned all unharmed. We used bloods and frozen clams, there were no fresh clams available. If you go just be aware Scott's B&T is closed so you'll need to find another option for bait. I like Skinner's Marina, great bait and great people, expect bloodworms to cost you your first born, I haven't bought any this year yet but I have an expectation. If you can plan your day for an afternoon outgoing on a sunny day you should be more productive, always seemed to be the best bite. I probably won't be out there until mid March but I'll be happy to report when I go.

I'll use anywhere from a 2/0 up to 5/0. I don't count on winter flounder. Small mouth you'd really have to go a t very small hook. Good possibility of white perch in the same general area though.

Have not caught any winter flounder there. I would think the best way would to fish down current from a clammer. I’ve been using # 5 hooks, perfect for bloods but a bit small for clams. I think that many would use #8 and I don’t think that’s a problem because stripers inhale the bait and have huge mouths even the little ones. You can get the occasional black drum so holding the rod is the game for them just don’t cross their eyes just a steady reel when u feel the tapping. Good luck, send me an email when your coming and I’ll try and help u out. Here’s a couple of shorts from last year

So far I’ve been out twice trolling plugs but have yet to get a bite. Hopefully I get out today and plan to do the same. I don’t want to buy worms. I have no where to keep them.
