Welcome to East Texas. I suppose you know that even East Texas is bigger than a lot of other states. I would recommend Toledo Bend as a good place if you are close to that body of water. It has both bass and catfish and lots of water to explore if you have a boat. Just Sayin...RJS

Martin Creek
FAIR. 50-55 degrees. Water lightly stained; 1.91 feet low. Bass are fair lipless crankbaits and Texas rigs 5-10 feet of water in creek channels. Report by Jeremy Baker, Jeremy Baker Fishing.

I copied this from the Texas Game and Fish Comm. February report. You can access this with Google, or Bing. Just Sayin...RJS

Thank you for replying. We have a boat and prefer artificial bait. I am particular to creature baits and LOVE fishing Lilly pads with frogs. It is very different than the Rocky Mountain brookies. When we first arrived we went fishing and I got a black crappie. It was very fun but since haven’t fished for crappie much. That’s been 4.5 years. Husband caught a snakehead 2 years ago and that was really fun but scary looking! Almost worse than a Pike.
