Welcome to East Texas. I suppose you know that even East Texas is bigger than a lot of other states. I would recommend Toledo Bend as a good place if you are close to that body of water. It has both bass and catfish and lots of water to explore if you have a boat. Just Sayin...RJS

FAIR. 50-55 degrees. Water lightly stained; 1.91 feet low. Bass are fair lipless crankbaits and Texas rigs 5-10 feet of water in creek channels. Report by Jeremy Baker, Jeremy Baker Fishing.

Welcome to the stage JnK1 Mr. Samples is right Toledo Bend is great bass and crappie fishing. The crappie spawn will be starting sometime next month and can be phenomenal there. Thank you for replying. We have a boat and prefer artificial bait. I am particular to creature baits and LOVE fishing Lilly pads with frogs. It is very different than the Rocky Mountain brookies. When we first arrived we went fishing and I got a black crappie. It was very fun but since haven’t fished for crappie much. That’s been 4.5 years. Husband caught a snakehead 2 years ago and that was really fun but scary looking! Almost worse than a Pike.
