Laying in bed with Covid for the second time (yes I am "vaccinated") and my phone rings. It's my youngest son, "Dad, can I borrow your boat on Sunday?" I was trying to answer him but my mouth wouldn't open so I just made grunting noises. What Dad, I can't understand you my son says. Finally I hear myself say, *sure son." I suspect that there might be something wrong with me as I have no doubt that while married it would have been much easier to loan my wife out for the night than it was to loan my boat out to my son! Lol. I actually wrote an instruction mini manual three pages long for him. I've been a nervous wreck since he left this morning. Feeling much better as I just got a text he is on his way home (so happy to know my boat is not on the bottom of the lake). The pic below is a nice trout he caught vertical jigging a blade bait. Won't be completely at ease until I see the boat parked. I have a question for anyone that shares my emotional attachment to their boat. Will you please share the excused you use to avoid loaning your boat out. I need to nip this in the bud next time he asks!

Don't worry Steve, you raised him, it will be fine. I hope you recover soon and get out of the house. You have a heat wave coming this week. Tell your boy, nice Trout, and thanks for the picture.

When he got home with the boat and him and his friends expressed their gratitude..... and they emphasized their respect for my property... I felt a lit better about it. Just a little. Lol

Work changed their Covid policy so I had four guys in my office the last two weeks that later tested positive. I feel so special with all that sharing. NOT!!!

I'm getting ready to have major back surgery on March 24th, right in the early start of Crappie fishing here in NC. But if someone was to ask, since I'll be down for awhile recovering and you want to take my boat out. Sorry pal, but there are some thing's my boat needs maintenance on before I would launch it myself, until it's safe to do so, I can't let you take my boat out.

Ugh, sorry to hear you got Covid AGAIN! How long since the last time?
Glad boat was respected. Did you get to eat some of that fish at least?

Sooner or later gotta give them some looser reins. Looks like his boy did well. I agree did the private fishing crew bring dad some grub?

Thatโ€™s a nice Trout Steve. Since you canโ€™t use it you might as well share it with your son.
