These are great for Bait fishing. I get the bigger ones as I have almost totally gone over to Braid.
Used them way way back and was so happy to finally find them on the Net. They are easy to slide up or down your line to get the right depth that you want. Easy to use and remove. And even cheaper than buying Rigs. Only thing I found with the smaller ones is that the braid can cut into the plastic with a snag. Still works though.
I used them back in the 60's. Then could not find them again. Found them again last year on line.
Had never seen those before today 🤔

Love them. You can put them at the bottom of your line if using a loop or put te sinker on the bottom and then put them anywhere above the line. When done fishing you can easily remove the hook and leader so you don't have a loose hook on the pole.

I'm curios Audigger53, have you ever lost a fish because of one? Where I fish, bank fishing always, some of my casts are in the 30 to 40 yard range. Some of my hookups involve bring fish up or around from debris and often through matted grass and muck.
Now supposing I use the bear claw at the end of my line.
Do they slip?
Do the pop open?
I do use pre-made leaders rigged with different plastics, swim baits, and live bait. While I don't like to use swivals, I do use them when working new areas with different rigs. Just wondering if the Bear paw would be easier and as reliable.

Very interesting, I think I have seen them before but I never gave them much thought. I have never fished with anyone that used them. I'm going to have to give them some heavy thought.
I have some of those in my box--been there for years and never used them. Guess I will give them a try.
