Starting off surfcasting, using live bait or artificial. Any tips or info would be appreciated. Folley beach is home turf for me and only a half hour away from home.

Welcome aboard Tom From another Charlestonian . Folly is a good place to surf fish as well as river fish. Have you been down by the old Coast Guard Base yet. If not go park at the end of the road and walk the beach to the rocks. There is some good red fishing down there. Here in Charleston we call them Spot tails. Don't know why. I just use shrimp on a bottom rig. Good luck and don't hesitate to reach out in you need anything else.

I haven't been to the surf yet. Hoping to go Sat if weather permits. Lost/sold almost all my gear so starting all new financing allows. I'm disabled without wheels. Relying on other local Surfcasters currently. Salt water is my passion.
