What is the perfect weekend if that is all you have time for to get out and enjoy fishing?

I recall temps being in the low 70* was a must. Quiet surroundings, and of course the bite is on.

I would say all of those plus a good fishing partner or two.

Perfect? It's gonna involve a clear cold stream at a high altitude and a whole bunch of 3 pound brook trout. A camp fire and a soft spot to lay down under an awesome view of our galaxy. And some other stuff that I wouldn't even mention in the attic.

Being 1st out on a 10mph lake, 65°at sunrise, no wind at all and mirror flat water. But on a weekday, so everyone is going to work, not mowing their lawn, weedwacking, or leaf blowing.

I’m with you Fred. The only thing you left out were the fish breaking the surface

I've got some topwaters that will solve that problem.

Morning on the lake with water as smooth as glass so I can see every movement. I cast out two lines with Northern minnows and a bobbers. There a couple eagles overhead and two loons nearby calling each other. I just sit and take it all in waiting for my bobber to go down.

"Sounds" like we have the love of quiet in common. Except on the Harley, of course, lol!
