Having withdrawals, are we ?
I know I am ! Haven't been out
in way too long ! May hit a few
of the local 'Community' lakes
for practice in the next few weeks - need to be in shape for 'ice-out'
on the 'Rim', as I'd love to try Silver Creek again (and this time, I won't
be leaving my net behind in the
truck) ! 😒

Got a new 7' St. Croix, with a new Shimano Vanford reel with 12lb Fluor on it. Getting serious about getting that DD this year.

Nope, told my wife when I got this one it would be the last one. Of course, I said that a few times over the years.

Sounds nice buddy, good luck breaking her in, and achieving the 10+ class! Someday I'll get somewhere where they live.

Just noticed the state record for Montana LMB is 8.8 lb. Nice to know that I have caught one that big.

Ours is 12lb 14oz, but it was caught 60yrs ago. With all the clubs and tournament fishing going on nowadays , you'd think someone would have broken the record by now, IF there's any bigger ones here. Doesn't look that way.
It wouldn't surprise me if JB breaks that Montana record.
Where is the lake you're going to?

Not sure at this time. He sent me a list of about 5 lakes in his area. He will pick the one that has the best chance of catching quality fish at that time of year. Totally agree, that it is a matter of time that he breaks the record.

Thanks Bric. Got a date set up with him in July. Now if we can keep all the fires away from all of our western states this year, it should be an awesome trip.

What part of July? We joke how summer starts in July, actually not a joke. Have seen it spitting snow on 4th of July, then near 90* the next day. Although last year in June it was hitting the 90’s.
