Going to be camping at Jenning Landing mid March thru Mid April, wondering what the Crappie are doing?
It might surprise you but the crappie will be doing what crappie are doing all over, they will be following other, smaller minnows and food fish where ever they go, and will be feeding upon that food source.
If you have the time and are inclined, go to Utube and look up how to create a personal crappie 'honey hole' for your personal use. Just Sayin...RJS

Welcome to the Forum, RW. I would think they would be close to spawning. But, I'm not a crappie fisherman.
Got back from trip and here is my report. The fishing was terrible. 1st week severe storms the Warrior was 8 feet above flood stage, 80 mph straight line winds, 2nd week severe storms, 50 mph winds, 3rd week thunderstorms and on clear days 20 mph winds, 4th week Tornado touchdowned. Total 27 crappie, 12 catfish, and 1 striper for the two of us. Better luck next year
