Well fishing in the back waters of the Mississippi River and look what I got. Who would know what it is. I do know it is a rough fish but what?
Welcome to the Forum, butch. Where abouts in MN. I don't know what that fish is but, I do know I wouldn't eat it. I would say that it is from the shad family. Maybe a cisco, I have never caught a cisco in the Miss.
Here in the quad cities on the Mississippi we call them skip jacks and moon eyes! They are very boney! Not fit to eat but great for cut bait for cat fishing! I have witnessed Oriental people boiling them in water on the river banks and eating them! Count me out! 🤮
