I’m a snow bird, in Destin, Florida, until March 12.
Would anyone with a boat, like to take an amateur fishermen , out fishing in the bay.
I can’t afford the high cost of the private charters, in the area.
I’m willing to pay for your fuel.

Just asking
George

Any head boats in Destin, or around the area. They are usually reasonable and you can catch some fish off of them. I would not go on any bay boats, they are usually a waste of time and money.

Fly. What do the slang terms mean? Head etc. I know what the head is on the boats I have frequented but I doubt the entire boat is one. Just curious and thank you ahead of time.

Head boats are a tangle nightmare at times. Kinda like first day of trout season most places

Hey Jeremy in San Diego they call them cattle boats where there a lot of people who don’t know each other fighting for space on the boat and sometimes cutting peoples line when fighting a fish or yelling at others. I fished at the Coronado islands in the late 50s early 60s but each time it was on a charter boat and most everyone knew each other and most got drunk and stayed below drinking and playing poker, great for myself and my friend who were teenagers we had the whole boat to ourselves. LW.

Jeremy, a head boat or party boat is a large boat that will take 30 - 40 fishermen out but usually in the wintertime they will only be 20 -25 on board. There is a minimum amount of clients needed or they won't go out. It is not cost-effective. My experience with them has always been good, and I have used them a lot. It's usually the same crew and we get to know each other, share sandwiches, barley pops, stories, and have a good time. I enjoy them, but I can see where a few bungholes could ruin the whole trip.

I have fished with 20+ guy on 100’ fishin boats and caught 75# of bluefin, yellow tail, and other fish off of Mexico 200 mile off shore and the best time of my life fishing. Everyone is trying to catch fish and to have a good time, yes there are -hit heads everywhere you go, but fish ON.

If I had a boat and lived in Florida I'd be happy to! Fish for trout from the bank out here in Utah.
