Thanks, Steve! When the fish are biting and the adrenaline is going, you don't feel the cold :-)
We caught them on 3.5 Mag Lips, Wiggle Warts and Heddon Tadpolly's, trolling near the shoreline in 7' to 13' of water.

Alright brother. Looks like they work really well there. Again, congrats.

Yeah, it was great camping along the shoreline. We did have to purchase a Reservation permit for it. $32/night
Fishing permit per day is $24.

We managed to catch 5 perch but none were any bigger than your hand so released them all.
Ocean was really rough so that made for tough fishin.

Thanks for sharing your fun. It really looks like blast. I couldn’t resist responding. It is something we said before when we were steelheading in winter when ice was constantly forming on our rods inside the reels from the line pulling water / ice up.

Any day fishing, either tough or easy, is a good day :-) As long as you had fun trying to catch fish, right?

My BFF, Christy, and I finally made it up to Pyramid Lake for MLK weekend. I figured, since it is a 3 day weekend and the weather and road conditions were great, we bought our Indian Reservation permits for camping and fishing for the weekend and headed up early Saturday morning 1/15/2022. We arrived at noon, set up our 27' Jayco Travel Trailer, set up our kayaks and fishing gear and hit the water around 2pm. We fished until about 5pm, because it was getting dark and cold quick. Highs were in the low 40's and lows were in the high 30's, but when your adrenaline is going while fishing, you don't feel the cold, so we were fine :-) We caught and released about 20 fish and kept one each over 24". Fishing regulations allow you to keep 1 fish between 17" to 20" and 1 over 24" or 2 between 17" to 20". No fish under 17" may be kept. It was barbless hooks only as well. We caught and released fish by trolling various lures, including spoons, Mag Lips, Wiggle Warts and Tadpolly's. Most of our fish were 23 1/2" range. The largest for the weekend was 34"!!! almost 3' in length. Good times, good grub good company and good weather. Who could ask for more!!! Until next time!

Great trip you guys and thanks for sharing. Pyramid has been on my radar for a long time. I have a 24' class C and want to do it the way you guys did. I have a 12' kayak I fish with. Not into the ladders like they do in some spots. I also have a 19' Northwood. If I take the kayak I'll have to figure out a rack.

Where did you guys camp?

So trolling lures, paddle power?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Rick
