Local fishing updates (McKenzie river)

I would like to know what is going on with the McKenzie river right now as far as what can I fish for right now?

RobbieJohnson: I am sorry to be too far away to help. Have you thought to Google the states Game and Fish commission to see if they have any word on the McKenzie River? That would be my first stop. Just Sayin...RJS

Robyn, Google the ODFW Recreation Report, click on "Fishing Reports", click on the proper area.....and voila'... recent report on whichever waterbody you scroll to.
Usually helpful and usually up to date, within a week or two.....note the adverb "usually".
They "try" to be accurate and current....& I "try" to be understanding when they post a report that's the same one I read 3 weeks ago...lol !
As I and dozens of others KEEP ON SAYING...... the best advice is from a LOCAL TACKLE SHOP, always has been, always will be.
Best done in person, but a phone call will do in a pinch.... they want and need your business, therefore have no reason to steer you wrong.
Not at all sure why this seems to be a "revelation" to so many, but apparently it is.
Do read the regulations booklet carefully regarding the McKenzie. It's one of the many Oregon rivers with special regs for several stretches and some stretches are simply closed.
