Since i retired I have noticed more and more "Job Offers" in my inbox. I really doubt that all those offers want a 76 year old retired Computer Repair Technician. Or even a Tech Support Hardware Technician. LOL I look at them and laugh. Not as funny as most of the jokes here though. ;)
Now if they offered a job fishing I would really have to stop and think about it.

Fishing surveys are a big thing. The pay ain’t much but you’ll get to see new places to fish, and get local tips !

I'm 77, responded to a job offer and now work at the highest six figure salary I have ever had. (Construction Manager)

Audigger I was an old COBOL programmer, unix administrator, database administrator and a whole slew of other things that I haven’t mentioned. I could land a contract job before end of next week and get 6 digit money to boot but ya know I’d rather do what makes me happy and that’s NOT designing new systems and fixing others crap. I think I’ll just go hunting and fishing whenever I want. I’ve been retired 8+ years and don’t miss it one damn bit!

Amen! LOL I don't miss the people asking at me, "When is it going to be fixed?"
My answer was either, "15 minutes" or "GOK" LOL
When they would come back and say, "You have been telling me 15 minutes for a 1/2 hour or an hour!"
"15 minutes after I find what's really wrong!"
OH, GOK ='s God Only Knows. LOL
I was sent to sites that had problems for weeks or months to find the real problem and fix it. One was in upstate NY that during the winter would crash all the time.
I was there just before Christmas and noticed that when i walked by their Christmas Tree, all the tinsel (Plasic) would point straight at me. "You need a Humidifier!" "We have one." "Where?" "Right over there."
They had put it right under the exuast duct for the room.
Had them move it to the other side of the room and 90% of their problems stopped.
Then I could focus on the rest of the problems and fix them.

I’m with you. Work is a 4 letter word. I don’t want to say it around grandkids. Life is too short. Fishing and Hunting. Grandkids are far more important at this point. If get a bunch of cash now and die tomorrow what will I do with it?

I did similar stuff at the end of my time at last job. Computerized laser benches with solenoids and other electronic controllers. Constantly asked WHEN ..when..when. I don’t miss it a bit. I had a broad spectrum of tasks in that job. Forklift instructor ( permanently certified to train ) snowplow operator and some repairs. Welder. Scientific Instrument Technician. Some building maintenance. Operate automatically controlled painting machines for lot striping and street striping. Minor plumbing. Mechanical Dynamometer repair ( crane operator). 25 years of hard work. I’m done. There is more I did there but anyway the when question definitely got old. Especially when either way the person asking just sat in an office barking orders to the doers.

I was a charter captain and fishing guide in Alaska. Health forced retirement in my 60's. I sure wish I was healthy enough to go back to work.
