I'm George in Santa Cruz CA. I came here 40 years ago to surf. Now I'm retired from working and surfing so I'm taking up fishing. I used to fish in the Hudson River when I was in high school. I would cast a worm out and sit on the rocks by the railroad track and just relax. Sometimes I'd catch a bull head or an eel. I'm near the beach here where people fish mostly for perch. I'd like to learn to fish and cook them.

You can and their really good. You need to see the beach when tide is low. Look for low spots and where the rip ( deeper channels) so when tide is in you can target the deeper water strategically
