Best so far was a 14 LB Catfish and about an 8 LB Small Mouth Bass. It was so fat it had an inch of meat across the belly between the the fins. Tried to find a place with scales to have it weighed. It almost looked like a really big Bluegill. More circular than long. The tail was only about 2 inches long, the straight part. Could NOT find a place open so we ate it.

That is a nice smallie Audigger. I bet that catfish gave you a fight too. I love catching bass. When they go airborne to try and throw the hook, it gives me a rush. I wish I was better at catching them but I enjoy getting out when I can.

Hi Saw. Hopefully you get this. I rescheduled my doc appt to next Thursday. Made the mistake of listening to the weather people. Could have gone today. I'm still uncomfortable but have stretches during the day when I feel better. I hope the antibiotics are working this time. No surgery until infection is gone. How's things in your world?

We're doin OK. Postponed out trip to Texas so it took a lot of pressure off us for right now.
I don't know why I stopped getting updates today. I have to open that post again and see if anybody has posted anything new. It's a real pain. Sent an email to admin but won't hear anything till morning.

I've had that happen once or twice but then it seemed to be okay later that day. Hard to figure why that happens.

I don't understand it either.
Sure hope those antibiotics work and you can get your surgery scheduled.

That's the game plan. Bear and I have a spring fishing trip planned in western TN in the spring. I want to be healed up by then so I don't miss it. Have you been fishing lately or have you been hit by a lot of rain?

At least you are getting out. Going to be awhile before I can. Thnx for the chat. You are probably getting ready to hit the hay soon. Sleep well.

well the first hit broke the 8 LB line. So I switched to 12 LB line rod and reel. Cast back same spot with another lure the same color as the Rattle trap I lost on the first hit. Old Bomber lure was what the small mouth hit. The wife told me she was NOT going fishing with me again as I had yelled at her. I had yelled, "Get the Net!" LOL She forgave me later. We had rented a Jon boat at this bait shop and bought a lake map that sowed the drop offs. Was casting to the deep side of the drop off and bringing it back towards us (shore). They were hanging out just below the drop off to come up and nail the small fish (and Lures). later found out that Choke Canyon Lake in Texas also had Hybrid Stripers there. I guess if I ever get back there I will use wire leaders. LOL

Where you going for surf perch Steve? I'm eavesdropping. Have you had success before and if so where at? Love that surf fishing, but as you well know I'm a little unstable on my feet, so it can be very tough.

Mornin' Greg, you have your days and nights mixed up. It's the other way around, buddy. You sleep at night and party during the day. A 50# Halibut would be my biggest and my best days of fishing would be 66 salmon on a fly rod off Lake Mich., over a 4 day weekend.
